Pic: Left - Neeraj Grover, Center - Maria Susairaj, Right - Emile Mathew
Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma's ready to release film 'Idhi Prema Kadha Kadhu' is based on the sensational Neeraj Grover murder case. However, RGV made it clear that the film is a fictionalised version of the incident and not a biopic.
After 3 years, the verdict of this murder case was delivered today.
Neeraj Grover murder case verdict: The Mumbai-court on Thursday found small-time Kannada actress Maria Susairaj not guilty of murder but of destroying evidence in the murder of TV executive Neeraj Grover. She can be sentenced for three years. Her boyfriend Emile Jerome Mathew, a Navy Lieutenant, was found guilty of murder and of destroying evidence. He can face a jail term upto 10 years.
Actual Story: In May 2008, engaged couple Naval Officer Emile Mathew and Kannada actress Maria Susairaj were arrested for the brutal murder of Neeraj Grover, a senior TV producer. Emile Jerome allegedly killed Neeraj Grover as he suspected Maria Susairaj of having an affair with him. Neeraj Grover was murdered in Maria's apartment in suburban Mumbai on May 7, 2008. It was reported that the body of the victim was chopped into several pieces, put into three bags and burnt the body to dispose it. The couple then had consensual sex twice in the same flat, even as the body lay in a pool of blood.
While the murder case verdict was already out, we have to wait till the release of the film to know the verdict of the audience.
Hero earns 80% of his income through ads
If anyone has doubts over the statement that 'Actors can earn more money through endorsements, than in films', have a look at this...
The trend of brand endorsements by Tollywood actors has reached a new peak. Most of the top actors are raking in money from ads now-a-days. Especially, when it comes to Mahesh.
Mahesh Babu's business plan: At Rs 3 crore per brand, trade pundits say he pockets around Rs 26 crore a year in endorsements. Currently, Mahesh is endorsing 10-12 major brands. Thums Up, UniverCell, Provogue, Amrutanjan Paim Balm, Vivel Shampoo, Idea Cellular, Navaratan Hair Oil and very recently, he started endorsing Jos Alukkas Jewellers. Also few more companies were in talks with the star, for endorsing their brand.
"It is clearly much more than what he earns by acting in a film,'' said a trade analyst.
Coming to films, Mahesh takes atleast one year to complete a film. He charges a remuneration of around Rs 6 crores per film. In that case, almost 80% of his total income is from ads. Great going Mahesh!
